Ministry of Helps

At Apostolic Word of God Church, we believe every believer carries a God-given gift meant to serve, build, and bless the Body of Christ. The Ministry of Helps is one of those essential gifts given by Holy Spirit for the strengthening of the church (1 Corinthians 12:28).
Those called to this ministry have a unique grace to assist, support, and come alongside others with compassion, humility, and joy. Their service can take many forms from practical acts like helping with daily tasks or aiding in church operations, to deeply spiritual support like encouraging the weary, speaking life into the discouraged, and reminding others of God’s truth in moments of doubt or fear.
Scripture tells us that “a word fitly spoken is like apples of gold in pictures of silver” (Proverbs 25:11). Helpers carry this ability to speak the right word at the right time, bringing comfort, courage, and joy to those in need. Whether through intercession, administration, worship, or prophetic insight, their service reflects the heart of Jesus, who “came not to be served, but to serve” (Mark 10:45).
The Lord knows all our needs and has placed these precious saints in the Body to serve with mercy, grace, and love, so that God may be glorified through Jesus Christ (1 Peter 4:10–11). This ministry is also a place where couples can serve side by side, multiplying their impact and joy in the Lord’s work. We believe every church needs this vital function, a team of spiritually gifted helpers who hear the voice of God and respond with willing hearts.
Beyond Individuals — A Call to Ministry Partnerships
The Ministry of Helps is not limited to individuals serving within their own local church. It can also be a beautiful bridge between ministries and churches, a place where the Body of Christ comes together to serve one another rather than operating in isolation. When churches and ministries partner, they multiply their impact, encourage unity, and demonstrate the heart of God for His people.
Just as no single part of the body can function apart from the others, no ministry is designed to carry the work of the Kingdom alone (Ephesians 4:11–16). Through partnership in the Ministry of Helps, resources are shared, burdens are lifted, and the love of Christ is displayed in action. Together, we can strengthen the Church and advance His Kingdom far beyond what we could accomplish separately.
Areas of Service May Include:
- Worship & Music: Psalmists, vocalists (lead & background), musicians (keyboard, guitar, drums, horn instruments)
- Prayer & Prophetic Ministry: Seers, scribes, intercessors
- Service & Support: Administration, hospitality, event assistance, facility care, outreach support
If you feel the Lord tugging your heart to serve in this way, we invite you to be equipped through training, mentorship, and hands-on ministry. Together, we will serve with excellence, humility, and the joy of the Lord sharpening one another for the glory of God and advancing His Kingdom into the earth.
