Our Pastors

Apostle Dr. David D. Carter and Prophetess Dr. Marguerite M. Carter are humble disciples of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. They are chosen vessels, called by the Father, anointed by the Holy Spirit, and ordained by Jesus, the Good Shepherd, to lead His people in this generation.

Together, they serve as the founding pastors of Apostolic Word of God Church — faithfully equipping believers, preaching the unchanging Word of God, and nurturing a Spirit-led culture of worship, prayer, and prophetic ministry.

Apostle Dr David D Carter, Pastor

Apostle David is a born-again, Spirit-filled believer with more than twenty-two years of ministry experience. Originally from Newark, New Jersey and raised in Havelock, North Carolina, he pursued higher education at Elizabeth City State University, earning a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration and Accounting. He later obtained a Master’s Certificate in Project Management from George Mason University, as well as both a Master’s and Doctorate of Divinity through Breakthrough Bible College.

Apostle David is the Founder and CEO of Apostolic Word of God Church and Apostolic Development Corporation. He is also the founder of The Epistles of Christ Newsletter Ministry, and has served as an editor and sponsor for two books. His career in public service includes key positions with the U.S. Department of the Interior, U.S. Department of Commerce, Department of Housing and Urban Development, U.S. Navy Military Sealift Command, Defense Contract Audit Agency, and the U.S. Air Force.

His heart is to empower believers to walk boldly in their calling, operating in the gifts of the Holy Spirit and fulfilling the Great Commission.

Prophetess Dr. Marguerite M Carter, Pastor

Prophetess Marguerite is a Spirit-filled, born-again believer with over twenty-four years of ministry experience. She was born in Sampson County, North Carolina and raised in Tomahawk, NC. Marguerite is a proud graduate of Elizabeth City State University, where she earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Intermediate Education. She went on to obtain a Master’s Degree in Special Education from the University of Southern Mississippi and holds endorsements in Administration, Middle School Education, Learning Disabilities, and Intellectual Disabilities.

Prophetess Marguerite earned a Doctorate of Biblical Counseling through Breakthrough Bible College and has dedicated her life to ministering the love and wisdom of Christ to people of all ages. She is the Co-founder of Apostolic Word of God Church and Apostolic Development Corporation, as well as The Epistles of Christ Newsletter Ministry.

Her professional background includes years of service as an educator in Arlington Public Schools (VA), Arlington Independent School District (TX), and Biloxi Independent School District (MS).

She’s passionate about inner healing, prophetic intercession, and equipping believers to hear God’s voice for themselves.
